Young Man Found Dead In Sangrur Temple; Priests Arrested for Murder

The lifeless body of a 33-year-old man, identified as Sudeep Kumar, was discovered today in Havankund, Sangrur, Punjab, within the premises of the Baglamukhi temple near Dohala railway gate in Dhuri. Reports indicate that Sudeep, son of Dhuri resident Gurinder Kumar, had been missing for approximately two days prior to the grim discovery.

Suspicions arose when inquiries made by Sudeep's family led to conflicting statements from temple priests. Despite claims from the temple priest that Sudeep had not visited the temple for two days, discrepancies in his account prompted the police to intensify their investigation. Subsequently, Parmanand, one of the temple priests, confessed during police interrogation to the murder of Sudeep Kumar and divulged details of the crime, including the burial of the body under the fire pit.

Following Parmanand's confession, authorities exhumed Sudeep's remains from beneath the fire pit and transferred them to the government hospital for post-mortem examination. Baglamukhi temple's chief priest, Ashok Shastri, along with Parmanand, now faces charges of murder as a case unfolds, with police indicating the possibility of additional individuals being involved in the heinous act.
